Sound Cities Association Appoints Robert Feldstein as Executive Director
Feldstein brings a wealth of experience to this mission; in public policy, strategic planning, and community engagement, having worked extensively with local governments, nonprofits, and national coalitions.
“We are thrilled to welcome Robert Feldstein as the new Executive Director of the Sound Cities Association,” said Des Moines Mayor Traci Buxton, President of the SCA Board. “Robert’s extensive background in public policy and his proven ability to lead and facilitate consensus among divergent stakeholders makes him the perfect choice to guide our organization forward. We are confident that his vision and expertise will greatly benefit our member cities and the communities they serve.”
Feldstein’s career spans over two decades, during which he has held significant positions such as Partner & Principal at Cedar River Group, Director of the Office of Policy & Innovation for the Seattle Mayor’s Office, and Chief of Staff for the Office of Policy and Strategic Planning under New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg. His work has focused on a wide range of issues including affordable housing, public safety, economic development, and immigration reform.
“I am excited to join the Sound Cities Association and work with its member cities on the critical issues facing our region,” said Feldstein. “The SCA’s mission of bringing the voices of one million people from thirty-eight cities to the table around critical issues aligns perfectly with my background and passion for public service.”
Feldstein will begin on February 24th and will immediately seek opportunities to meet with members, partners, and other stakeholders along with the SCA team to begin building strong and vital relationships.
