Algona Mayor Troy Linnell Elected Vice President of Sound Cities Association
(Algona, WA – February 27, 2026) – Mayor Troy Linnell has been elected 2026 Vice President of the Sound Cities Association (SCA).
SCA represents 38 King County cities and provides a regional voice for more than one million people.
“Mayor Linnell brings a strong appreciation for the unique challenges small cities face and how they connect to the broader region,” said Armondo Pavone, Mayor of Renton and SCA President. “He brings an informed and grounded approach to how cities large and small can work together effectively, and I’m grateful to have him as Vice President.”
Linnell was elected SCA Vice President by the SCA Board of Directors, which is composed of King County mayors and councilmembers elected by their peers, along with one city manager or administrator, to oversee the 38-city association. SCA member cities include all King County cities with populations under 250,000.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve as SCA Vice President,” said Linnell. “I know how important it is for local leaders to work together and learn from one another. I’m looking forward to working with President Pavone and the Board to help ensure every city has a seat at the table and a strong partner in SCA.”
Troy Linnell is serving his second term as Mayor of Algona and served seven years on the Algona City Council prior to becoming mayor. As mayor, he has focused on improving city services, enhancing community facilities, and strengthening regional partnerships. An Algona resident of four decades, Linnell is dedicated to serving his community and representing its interests at the regional level.
SCA is an association of King County cities founded in the 1970s to help cities act locally and partner regionally to create vital, livable communities through advocacy, education, leadership, mutual support, and networking. SCA’s 38 member cities collectively serve more than 1.3 million residents and over half of King County’s population. The Association appoints city representatives to regional boards and committees and supports local elected officials with policy resources, training, and opportunities for collaboration on shared priorities.
