Renton Mayor Armondo Pavone Elected President of Sound Cities Association
(Renton, WA – February 27, 2026) – Renton Mayor Armondo Pavone has been elected 2026 President of the Sound Cities Association (SCA).
SCA represents 38 King County cities and provides a regional voice for more than one million people.
“Mayor Pavone is a consistent, strong, and steady voice for regional collaboration and partnership,” said Robert Feldstein, Executive Director of SCA. “I’m very excited to collaborate with him as we continue moving forward on behalf of the region and all SCA cities.”
Pavone was elected President by the SCA Board of Directors, which is composed of King County mayors and councilmembers elected by their peers, along with one city manager or administrator, to oversee the 38-city association. SCA member cities include all King County cities with populations under 250,000.
“I’m honored and grateful for the confidence my colleagues have placed in me by electing me President of SCA,” Pavone said. “In the coming year, I look forward to working with other members of the Board, SCA staff and city leaders to continue using the powerful collective voice of SCA to advance policies and initiatives that strengthen communities throughout our region.”
Mayor Pavone was first elected to the Renton City Council in 2013 and elected Mayor in 2019. Now serving his second term, he has focused on public safety, affordable housing, transportation improvements, and economic vitality for the City of Renton. As a lifelong Renton resident, Pavone brings a deep commitment to local communities and to strengthening regional cooperation.
SCA is an association of King County cities founded in the 1970s to help cities act locally and partner regionally to create vital, livable communities through advocacy, education, leadership, mutual support, and networking. SCA’s 38 member cities collectively serve more than 1.3 million residents and over half of King County’s population. The Association appoints city representatives to regional boards and committees and supports local elected officials with policy resources, training, and opportunities for collaboration on shared priorities.
